Plus One: A Finished Quilt

Friends of ours recently had a baby boy (born three weeks early and with lots of drama). He is absolutely edible and I have been snuggling him every chance I can get! The baby shower is in a few weeks (mom wanted to wait until after Baby C arrived) and I have a quilt for this cutie: Plus One.

I pieced and quilted this one quite awhile back but when it was determined the shower would be after his birth I delayed the binding to get on with other projects. I pulled out the last bit of my Lotta Jansdotter Echo turquoise fabric to make the binding and though it was hard to let it go it is on a quilt heading to a little guy whom I adore. Fair trade, I think.

Fabrics are mostly Lotta Echo and Camp Modern by Jay-Cyn for Birch Fabrics. Pattern is from Jeni of In Color Order.

The backing is a blue trellis fabric from Pink Castle Fabrics...Living Lattice in Dusty Blue

I did an echo straight-line quilting on either side of each square using a variegated teal thread.

I also made matching face cloths to go with this quilt. I hope mom and Baby C love the quilt!
